Carolina Nester

With over sixteen years of experience in the PV sector, my professional career began in 2007 in a small city called Ibi in Alicante, Spain, as a solar module manufacturing Process Engineer spanning into the field of solar installation permitting, design, construction management, commissioning and subsequent supervision and control of solar assets. Women’s interest in the engineering sector, particularly in photovoltaics, was low, approximately 16% of the business. In 2012, I diversified my experience in PV consulting, supporting the development and management of net metering solar installations. The experience gained through 2014 allowed me to transition to the discipline of Asset Management, covering the Technical and Commercial Asset Management scope of the field, managing more than 500 MWp of solar assets. Since joining Sonnedix back in 2017, I was promoted to the role of Head of Asset Management for Spain, now Iberia, being responsible for the overall performance and optimization of a 400 M€ revenue solar asset portfolio. Throughout this progression, I have grown the team from four (4) Asset Managers to a team of 21 Asset Managers and 10 Technicians, advocating diversity in the team and achieving, in the process, a better than 50% gender balance.
